Sabrent ensures that each module is packaged securely within its protective cardboard box, featuring packaging that aligns with the company’s typical product presentation. On the front of the packaging, there is a prominent display of the Memory modules, where the upper section showcases the Sabrent logo, model information, memory frequency, and capacity. A full-sized image of the Sabrent Rocket DDR4 SO-DIMM memory is prominently featured on the front cover, providing customers with a clear view of the memory module’s design without the need to open the box. Notably, the packaging prominently displays the memory’s specifications, indicating a capacity of 32 GB and a base frequency of 3200 MHz.

Flipping the box to the back, you’ll find a layout very similar to the front. It includes a barcode with the model number and a website address, offering easy access to more detailed product information.

Inside the outer packaging, a slide-out inner box awaits, complete with a folding lid. This inner box is thoughtfully designed with dense foam inserts to ensure the modules remain well-protected during transit. Additionally, an installation guide is included to assist customers with the setup process. Both the inner and outer boxes maintain a clean, minimalist design, focusing solely on product identification without any extraneous marketing information.

The memory modules themselves uphold Sabrent’s trademark minimalist aesthetic, which is consistent across their entire product line. Sabrent prides itself on delivering products with a consistently pleasing and minimalist appearance, ensuring that customers can expect a uniform and visually appealing experience with each purchase.

Closer Look

Once the memory is out of its packaging, our first glimpse of the modules reveals several noteworthy details. Maintaining a consistent design language, these modules bear a striking resemblance to Sabrent’s larger Rocket NVME storage drives, a feature I find quite appealing. Another prominent observation is that, initially, it may seem as though the modules come equipped with heat spreaders! however, upon closer inspection, it becomes clear that these are actually stickered labels.

Staying true to Sabrent’s design philosophy, these memory modules exude a captivating minimalist charm. The memory itself boasts a sleek black PCB paired with a copper heat spreader, sporting two distinct colors. This color scheme marks a departure from the SSDs Sabrent typically manufactures. Flipping the module to its reverse side, we find a design consistent with the front, featuring minimalistic branding and key information, including the module’s speed and model number.

Notably, the Sabrent Rocket DDR4 SO-DIMM diverges from the norm by eschewing a thick aluminum heat spreader, a common feature in most DDR5 modules on the market. Instead, these memory modules are enveloped in a thin copper sheet. As depicted in the accompanying photo, this copper heat spreader is susceptible to dents and creases. Nevertheless, it performs admirably in dissipating heat, a considerable improvement over having no heat spreader at all. To date, my usage of the Rocket DDR4 has not revealed any thermal issues.

At the top of the module, simplicity reigns supreme, with a small Sabrent Rocket logo accompanied by details regarding the module’s speed and capacity. While a standard one-year warranty is provided, Sabrent offers an extended five-year warranty for free to those who register their purchase. This five-year coverage should suffice for the entire useful lifespan of most systems.

When I removed the copper heat spreader, I discovered 16 memory chips made by Samsung, each bearing the Sabrent logo. This single-sided module is equipped with eight 2GB memory chips, providing a total capacity of 16GB per stick.
