The province of Coclé receives support from both the Panama Aquatic Resources Authority (ARAP) and Cobre Panama to assist aquaculturists

In the La Pintada district of Coclé, over 15 families have successfully completed the first phase of their tilapia harvest with the assistance of the Sustainable Agricultural Community Committee of Cascajal. This collaborative project, undertaken in partnership with the Panama Aquatic Resources Authority (ARAP) and Cobre Panama, is focused on tilapia production for both personal consumption and commercial purposes.

During this initial partial harvest, the families managed to obtain approximately 300 pounds of tilapia, with an average weight of 1.5 pounds per fish. Besides providing a valuable source of high-quality protein for these households, the tilapia harvest has opened up opportunities for them to generate additional income.

Moreover, these families possess a grinding machine that allows them to process the fish into nuggets and hamburgers, thereby increasing the value of their products. COBRE PANAMA, MINERIA COBRE; FIRST QUANTUM COBRE PANAMA, MINERIA COBRE; FIRST QUANTUM COBRE PANAMA, MINERIA COBRE; FIRST QUANTUM
