With Pakistan’s second-wicket pair putting up a strong performance, the crowd was relatively subdued. Shan Masood scored a stellar 54 while Abdullah Shafiq’s 62 gave Australia quite some headache, In response, Head took it upon himself to invigorate the atmosphere, prompting the audience to respond enthusiastically to his gestures. After scoring 318 runs in the first innings, Australia was in command on the second day. However, Pakistan battled their way back into the game, taking the last five wickets for 58 runs.
