The India Cricket Team has been advised to have a low-key New Year 2024 celebration. The mood in the camp is not great after the visitors were humiliated by the Proteas in the Boxing Day Test. Moreover, the team has been advised to maintain safety measures in venturing out in Cape Town for New Year’s Celebration.
Team India is set to travel to Cape Town from Centurion on 31st December. The team had an optional training session on 30th December and is set to jet off on New Year’s eve.

With high crime rates in South African cities, the players have been advised to maintain a low key celebration for the New Year. Robbery, theft, mogging, pickpocketing in common in Protean cities and as a result the players have been advised to be careful and have a low-key New Year.
“Not serious but the general safety precautions we have to take, as usual,” an Indian Cricket Team player told Cricbuzz.
It is understood that none of the players will venture out to visit the city. With the 2nd Test match starting on 3rd January, Team India is set to fly back to India on 8th January.
As for the India Cricket Team, Rinku Singh has been released from the Main squad to join the India A squad which is also on a shadow tour. On the other hand, Avesh Khan has joined the team in place of injured Mohammed Shami. Abhimanyu Eashwaran too has joined the team as a backup for the openers spot in place of injured Ruturaj Gaikwad.
