The collaboration between Gonzalo and Nicolás Pieres, named Ellerstina Yellow Rose, was launched for the Triple Crown

At the prestigious Enero Costanera in Buenos Aires, the Pieres brothers, Gonzalo and Nicolás, along with newcomers Bautista Bayugar and Ignatius Du Plessis, proudly introduced their Ellerstina Yellow Rose team for Argentina’s forthcoming polo season. The unveiling featured the team’s latest jersey and allowed the players to share their aspirations for the year ahead. “We’re excited to launch into the season with our refreshed lineup. Our goal is to hit the ground running and chase success at every turn,” Gonzalo Pieres remarked at the gathering, which attracted a variety of distinguished guests.

This year, the celebrated Ellerstina squad, adorned with numerous titles including the Argentine Polo Open on several occasions, is backed by Yellow Rose, a club established in 1996 in Punta del Este by Jorge “Corcho” Rodríguez. Rodriguez and his partner, Vero Lozano, graced the event with their presence, alongside other famous personalities.

Yellow Rose has been instrumental in fostering the global polo community, with operations spanning Argentina and Uruguay. Since 2021, it has been bolstering its polo activities in Argentina and has formed a strategic partnership with Ellerstina. This collaboration brings together a dynamic and promising team, brimming with enthusiasm and supported by a robust organizational framework that nurtures the athletes’ development and future achievements. Despite Facundo Pieres moving to play with La Natividad this season, the team, comprising Nicolas Pieres, Bautista Bayugar, Gonzalo Pieres, and “Nachi” Du Plessis, boasts a formidable 35-goal handicap. The squad is setting its sights on the Argentine Triple Crown, featuring elite tournaments like the Hurlingham Open, Tortugas Open, and the Argentine Open Polo Championship.

Ellerstina’s sponsorship roster for this event includes Yellow Rose, Jeep, Gibson, and RUS, supported further by AlUla, Stella Artois, Sierra de los Padres, Enero Restaurant, Johnnie Walker, Clos de los Siete, and Aconcagua.

Beyond its triumphs in the arena, Yellow Rose is celebrated for its social engagement and promotion of equestrian sports. The club hosts esteemed charity events that blend top-tier polo with music and community support, drawing elite polo figures and generating funds for charitable causes. Esteemed Argentine players like Polito Pieres, Ignacio Figueras, Gonzalo Pieres, Bartolomé “Barto” Castagnola, Mariano Aguerre, Facundo Pieres, and Pablo Llorente have participated in these events.

In 2021, the club organized a notable event in Punta del Este, endorsed by the Argentine and Uruguayan Polo Associations, uniting the world’s finest polo talent to support the Marabo Sports and Social Club in Buenos Aires province’s General Rodríguez. Yellow Rose’s social initiatives are further highlighted by its partnership with the Compromiso Foundation and the General Rodríguez Municipality. The club offers a complimentary training scheme for individuals over 16, focusing on digital skills like Marketing, E-commerce, and Programming. The 2023 season marks a pivotal chapter for the club as it steps in as the principal sponsor of Ellerstina in the Triple Crown, showcasing the mutual values of family, friendship, and sportsmanship that Yellow Rose promotes.
