Tripartite Alliance won’t perish despite challenges: Mbalula

Mbalula Says Partnership with South African Communist Party Will Continue Even After Elections

In a recent statement, the Minister of Transport, Fikile Mbalula, has reassured the public that the partnership between the African National Congress (ANC) and the South African Communist Party (SACP) will continue even after the upcoming elections.

Mbalula, who is also the ANC’s Head of Elections, made this announcement during a joint press conference with SACP General Secretary, Blade Nzimande. The two leaders emphasized the importance of the alliance between the two parties and its role in the country’s political landscape.

“We want to assure the people of South Africa that the alliance between the ANC and the SACP is strong and will continue to be strong even after the elections,” Mbalula said.

The partnership between the ANC and the SACP dates back to the struggle against apartheid, where the two parties worked together to fight for the liberation of the country. This alliance has continued even after the dawn of democracy in 1994, with the SACP being a key member of the ANC-led tripartite alliance, along with the Congress of South African Trade Unions (COSATU).

Mbalula acknowledged the important role that the SACP has played in the ANC’s election campaigns, stating that their support and contribution have been invaluable.

“The SACP has been a strong and reliable partner in our election campaigns. They have been instrumental in mobilizing support for the ANC and we are grateful for their unwavering commitment,” he said.

Nzimande also expressed his party’s commitment to the alliance, stating that the SACP will continue to work closely with the ANC to ensure the success of the upcoming elections.

“We are fully committed to the alliance and we will continue to work with the ANC to ensure that we emerge victorious in the elections. Our partnership is based on shared values and a common vision for a better South Africa,” Nzimande said.

The SACP has been a vocal supporter of the ANC’s election manifesto, which focuses on creating jobs, growing the economy and addressing the challenges facing the country, such as poverty, inequality and corruption.

Mbalula also addressed concerns about the SACP’s decision to contest the elections independently in some provinces, stating that this does not affect their alliance with the ANC.

“The SACP’s decision to contest the elections independently in some provinces is a democratic right and does not in any way affect our alliance. We respect their decision and we will continue to work together towards a common goal,” he said.

The partnership between the ANC and the SACP has been a source of strength for both parties, with each bringing their unique strengths and perspectives to the table. This alliance has also been crucial in maintaining political stability in the country and ensuring that the interests of the working class are represented.

In conclusion, Mbalula’s statement reaffirms the commitment of the ANC and the SACP to their alliance, which has stood the test of time. This partnership is not only important for the two parties but also for the country as a whole, as it ensures a united front in addressing the challenges facing South Africa. As we approach the elections, let us remember the importance of this alliance and the role it plays in shaping the future of our nation.
