Former NSC Director Urges Action on Iran as Death Toll of Protestors Rises
In the midst of ongoing protests and violence in Iran, former senior director of the National Security Council Michael Allen has called for the Trump administration to take action against the regime. With a reported death toll of more than 6,000 people, mostly protestors, Allen believes that military intervention may be necessary to put an end to the bloody crackdown by the Iranian government.
In an interview with Fox News, Allen expressed his concerns over the escalating situation in Iran. He stated, “The numbers are staggering, and it’s clear that the regime has no intention of backing down. President Trump will have to do something militarily to address this crisis and protect innocent lives.”
The protests initially erupted in November 2019 following a sharp increase in fuel prices, but they have since evolved into a larger movement addressing widespread government corruption, economic turmoil, and human rights abuses. The Iranian government has responded with brutal force, using tear gas, live ammunition, and even snipers to disperse crowds. Reports of mass arrests, disappearances, and executions have also surfaced, raising international alarm.
While the regime has attempted to conceal the full extent of the violence, images and videos shared on social media by protesters and eyewitnesses have revealed the harrowing reality of the situation. The Iranian government has also restricted internet access in an attempt to silence dissent and prevent information from reaching the rest of the world.
As the death toll continues to rise and the regime shows no signs of backing down, Allen believes that the time for action has come. He stressed the need for the US to intervene and put pressure on the Iranian government to stop the violence and respect the human rights of its citizens.
President Trump has shown support for the protestors, tweeting “To the brave, long-suffering people of Iran: I’ve stood with you since the beginning of my presidency and my administration will continue to stand with you.” However, Allen believes that more decisive action is necessary.
The former NSC director proposed a range of options for the US government to consider, including targeted strikes on Iranian military sites or the deployment of troops to secure the country. He emphasized that any action taken must be carefully planned and executed, but that the US cannot afford to sit by and watch as innocent lives are lost.
Critics have expressed concerns that military intervention in Iran could lead to further destabilization in the region, particularly in light of recent tensions with neighboring countries. However, Allen believes that the US has a responsibility to uphold its values and support democracy and human rights around the world.
He also refuted the notion that military intervention would be a step towards war with Iran, stating, “This is not about starting a war, it’s about protecting innocent lives and standing up against a brutal regime that is responsible for the deaths of thousands of its own people.”
Allen’s call for action has been echoed by other US officials and human rights organizations. As the international community watches the situation in Iran with growing concern, it is clear that the time for inaction has passed.
The Trump administration must take decisive action to hold the Iranian government accountable for its actions and put an end to the violence against its own citizens. The people of Iran deserve to have their voices heard and their rights protected. It is time for the US to stand with them and take a strong stance against tyranny and oppression.
