Greene: Iran war hurting Vance, Gabbard

Former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.), a vocal opponent of the Iran war, recently spoke out about how the ongoing conflict is affecting other key figures in the administration who share her stance against foreign wars. In a statement on Monday, Greene expressed her concern for Vice President JD Vance and Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, who she believes are being negatively impacted by the prolonged war.

“The longer this war with Iran goes on, the more it hurts not only our country, but also those within the administration who have been consistently against foreign wars,” Greene stated. “JD Vance and Tulsi Gabbard are both passionate advocates for peace and non-interventionism, and it’s disheartening to see them being overshadowed by this ongoing conflict.”

Greene’s comments come at a time when tensions between the US and Iran are at an all-time high. Despite President Biden’s promises to rejoin the Iran nuclear deal and reduce military presence in the Middle East, there has been a recent escalation in hostilities, with the US carrying out airstrikes against Iranian-backed militia groups in Syria.

Greene, who has been a vocal critic of the airstrikes, believes that the administration’s actions are not only damaging to US-Iran relations, but also to the reputations of those in the government who have long been against foreign intervention.

“JD Vance and Tulsi Gabbard have both been vocal opponents of military intervention in the Middle East and have consistently advocated for a more diplomatic approach to dealing with Iran,” Greene explained. “But because of this ongoing war, their voices are being drowned out and their efforts to promote peaceful solutions are being hindered.”

Vance, a former Marine and author, has been a strong advocate for a non-interventionist foreign policy. In his 2016 book, “Hillbilly Elegy”, he criticized the US’s involvement in the Iraq War and emphasized the importance of addressing domestic issues before getting involved in foreign conflicts.

Similarly, Gabbard, a former US Army officer and congresswoman, has been a vocal critic of US military interventions abroad. She has repeatedly called for an end to the war in Afghanistan and has been a strong advocate for rejoining the Iran nuclear deal.

But despite their efforts, both Vance and Gabbard have been overshadowed by the ongoing conflict with Iran. Greene believes that this is not only a disservice to these individuals, but also to the American people who are looking for leaders who prioritize peace and diplomacy over aggression and war.

“It’s time for the administration to listen to those who have consistently opposed foreign wars and to give their voices the attention and respect they deserve,” Greene urged. “We cannot continue to prioritize war over peace and expect to see positive outcomes.”

Greene’s remarks have resonated with many Americans who are tired of the US’s involvement in endless wars. As the situation with Iran continues to escalate, it’s important for the administration to listen to voices like Vance and Gabbard and prioritize peaceful solutions over military action.

In the face of adversity, it’s important for leaders to stay true to their beliefs and principles. JD Vance and Tulsi Gabbard have been steadfast in their opposition to foreign wars, and it’s time for the administration to give them the recognition and support they deserve. The future of our nation and the world depends on leaders who are willing to stand up for peace and diplomacy, even in the face of opposition. Let’s hope that voices like Greene’s will help bring about positive change and a more peaceful world.
